ATTACKSSuwari Waza: Nage and uke are both kneeling (shikko). Tachi Waza: Nage and Uke are standing. (do not confuse with Ta Chi Tori - attack with bokken) Hanmi Handachi: Nage is kneeling and uke attacks from a standing position. TORI-GRABS Katate Tori: Uke
grabs nage's wrist with one hand. Morote Tori: Uke grabs one of nage's wrists with both hands. Ryote Tori: Uke grabs both of nage's wrists with both hands. Kata Tori: Uke grabs one of nage's shoulders with one hand. (a same side grab) Ryo Kata Tori: Uke grabs both of nage's shoulders from the front. Mune Tori: Uke grabs nage's lapel (chest level) from the front with one hand. Eri Tori: Uke grabs nage's collar (neck level) from the front with one hand. Hiji Tori: Uke grabs nage's elbow with one hand. Ryo Hiji Tori: Uke grabs both of nage's elbows. Okuri Erijime: Uke grabs nage's throat with both hands. Juji Jime: Uke grabs nage's upper lapels with both hands with arms crossed.(choke hold) U CHI - STRIKES Tsuki: Uke throws a punch at nage's midsection. Mune Tsuki: Uke throws a punch at nage's solar plexus. Gamen Tsuki: Uke throws a punch at nage's head. Shomen Uchi: Uke makes an overhead and open-handed strike with the blade of the hand(tegatana) toward nage's forehead. Yokomen Uchi: Uke makes an open handed strike with the tegatana to the side of nage's head. Gyaku Yokomen Uchi: Uke makes a backhand strike with the tegatana to the side of nage's head. Kata Tori Men Uchi: Uke grabs one of nage's shoulders and makes an open handed strike to nage's head with the other hand. USHIRO - FROM BEHIND Ushiro Te Kubi Tori: Uke grabs both of nage's wrists from behind. (also Ushiro Ryote Tori) Ushiro Ryo Kata Tori: Uke grabs both of nage's shoulders from behind. Ushiro Ryo Hiji Tori: Uke grabs both of nage's elbows from behind. Ushiro Katate Jime: Uke grabs one of nage's wrists and one lapel from behind. Ushiro Kubi Shime: Uke grabs one of nage's wrists and the collar from behind for a choke hold. Ushiro Hadaka Jime: Uke grabs nage's throat with both hands from behind.
